Installing Software using Make-Me-Admin (MMA)

What is Make-Me-Admin (MMA)

The "Make Me Admin" application is used to elevate user accounts on Windows machines from a standard user to an administrator account.




Running "Make Me Admin"


Enter "make" in the Windows search bar

Or click on Start - All - M - "Make Me Admin"

Once started the Make Me Admin application will pop up a small windows.
Click on the "Grant Me Administrator Rights" button.

A message will pop up that access was granted

Your account now has administrator privileges for the next 15 minutes.

You may now install software from the C:\temp folder.

*Please note some software has been forbidden from being loaded on UW and SPH machines and Windows will quietly stop the install.  If the software you are attempting to run does not work, please contact dghit@uw.edu.
